Chelsea on the verge of landing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £60m

Antonio Conte is looking to strengthen his squad this summer and after declaring Diego Costa surplus to requirements is in hot pursuit for a new striker. Chelsea have been linked to a variety of strikers this summer including Romelu Lukaku who recently signed for Manchester united and Andre Belloti. According to The Sun they have beat AC Milan to the signing of want away Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker has flourished under Thomas Tuchel over the last to years scoring 31 goals in the Bundesliga last season and 25 the season before.

Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian was reportedly interested in the Dortmund striker and had offered €71 million for his signature. However they have dropped their interest after signing Anthony Modeste from Cologne.

Update: In a interview with Bild, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Witzke set a deadline rumoured to be July 26th for Aubameyangs transfer.  He said, “We told Auba that if he wants to move on at one point and has a club that is prepared to meet our conditions, he should come to us and we’ll talk about it — but we also told him that there is a certain timeframe for it.”
